These pictures was taken at the altar of Archdiocesan Shrine of San Vicente Ferrer in Bogo City, sometime in 2007. One of the members here are now in Dubai while another one left the group...
The group's binding strength has been tested through times in many ways. But despite all the trials the group stood still. The members are from different walks of life and different ages and yet the binding and brotherhood is still amazing.
There were those who join this group and left for reasons unknown. These people tried to break the group by making all kinds of intrigues. These people were even once backed by a young priest assigned before in Bogo who tried to discredit the group. They didn't succeed.
Another choir group emerged who tried to make money out from singing in weddings, everytime someone will inquire the services of Male Choir this another group will always mislead them by saying that Male Choir is too expensive, they will ask you to pay P4,000.00 and yet they will only sing at Mass. Just hire us and pay P2,000 and we will sing in the mass of your wedding up to the reception area.
The truth of the matter is, the Male Choir's service is worth more than P4,000 pesos since it is hard to gather its members, some are tambay, some are ordinary workers, some are managers, some are retirees from foreign countries, some are bankers. And these people will be willing to leave their jobs for a while just to show their commitment and your P4,000 is not enough. However, in the name of service, everytime we are hired to sing at weddings or any occasion, we don't asked for a fix rate. Its up to them how much they will give. Most of the time Male Choir only receives P1,500.00. Sometimes we even received P1,000.00 and a lot of times we are paid more than P5,000.00 just for an hour of service.
The people who were trying to discredit and break the group did not succeed. Because we believe in the strong brotherhood that we have, we are anchored in a strong devotion to St. Vincente Ferrer and the beloved patron is always protecting us.
